The Fast & Furious movies are known for their extensive stunt sequences, but the latest entry, Fast & Furious 9, has become the scene of a serious accident involving one of its stuntmen.

With filming underway in Leavesden Studios and Justin Lin directing, production was halted for the day after stuntman was left with a head injury after a fall. “We had an injury on the set of Fast 9 today in Leavesden with one of our stuntmen,” a Universal spokesperson confirmed to Variety. “We have halted production for the day to focus on this situation.”

The police were called to an incident shortly before noon on Monday and an air ambulance was summoned. There has yet to be an update on the stuntman’s condition.

This latest Fast film features Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, John Cena, Helen Mirren, and Charlize Theron, but it’s not known whether any of the cast were on set during the incident. Fast 9 – or whatever it ends up being called – will be out on 22 May next year.
